ANW


The name of the fraternity of brothers shall hereforth be known as ALPHA NU OMEGA.

Our fraternity originated with an idea brought to light at a party at 1435 Alberta Street on October 15, 1968. A series of meetings informally took place and it was decided to formally apply for recognition of the Inter-Fraternity Council, the governing body of the Greek System at UD.

After a few organizing meetings, officers were informally appointed. They were as follows: Michael Collins as President, Victor Bako as Vice President, Frank Stama as Secretary and Richard Shea as Treasurer.

The officers of ANW officially applied for a seat in the I.F.C. on January 23, 1969. Approximately three weeks later ANW was welcomed into the I.F.C. as an associate member on a probationary status for one and a half years. The date was February 13, 1969.

A celebration party took place the following night, February 14, 1969 at 1435 Alberta.

Let it be known that the motto for ANW is written in Greek,"Diakoux a Delqiv". Phonetically it is pronounced "Deeawkinay ah Delphois". It translates to "Service to Brothers". Our colors are crimson and gold and they shall be displayed on all fraternal possessions, emblems and letterheads.
